PARENT-TEACHER DRIVER EDUCATION

(The charge for a 2-hour class is $145.) 

1.   We can email the PTDE application to parents to enroll as the primary instructor. 
2.   The instruction booklet from TDLR costs $20.
3.   The parent always remains the primary instructor.
4.   Students are required to take a 32 hour in-person or online driver education class to get   
5.   their permit (TDLR requirement is the same for a driving school)
6.   Parents teach their teens 14 hours behind-the-wheel without observation hours. 
7.   Parents teach their teens an additional 20 hours during the day and 10 hours at night        
8.   behind-the-wheel (TDLR requirement is the same for a driving school).
9.  6.   TDLR does not allow an “alternative instructor” to be the primary instructor.
10.  We partner with parents by providing private classes to help teach their children.  
11.   Before our students drive on the road, we teach them how to use their brain to gain a safe      
12.   level of control as follows: 
13.   As teaching partners, parents observe one of the two-hour parking lot control classes.  
14. As teaching partners, parents can take over the training after the second control class.  
15. As teaching partners, we can resume the training at any time.

Parents should know what and how their children are being taught.
