INTRODUCTION TO THE FALCON CAR CLASSROOM
Do you know for over fifty years forcing students to drive around has been the only way they have been trained? It’s always the students’ fault when 51.9% fail their 1st driving test and 51.1% fail it the 2nd time. It’s always human error at fault when 43 % of 1st year drivers and 37% of 2nd year drivers are involved in vehicle crashes. Why is the training never at fault?
In 2021, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimated 203,256 young drivers (including teenagers) were injured in car crashes nationwide. Human error (emotions) causes 90% of all car crashes. Would training to control emotions reduce human error?
On December 10, 2023, Louise J. Wilson 17 was driving on I-45 around 1 a.m. in Texas. She changed lanes, cut someone off, was shot and died at the scene. I have seen students in their 7th lesson unable to make a safe lane change or park. Would better training prevent this?
Working with several schools has taught me a lot about this one way driver training. I observed one school owner force teenage students to drive around for five hours. While on his iPhone, he ignored control errors, flattered and called them bro. One student dangerously oversteered his turns (7th lesson). Later, he failed his driving test. Would better training prevent this?
Another owner said she had to fail one student on her driving test after she ran four stop signs. Stopping past one stop sign is an automatic fail. Her website says “Get your driver license within 2 days, 96% pass test 1st try”. Does she pass students who only run three stop signs?
Driver education teaches driving angry, fearful and worried is as dangerous as drinking and driving. Both cause red light and stop sign running, speeding and deadly road rage. Ask any school how they use behind-the-wheel training to teach students to control their emotions.
Training adults moving to Texas has taught me a lot. Many of them have been driving for years. They have difficulty learning hand-over-hand steering, driving in reverse and parallel-parking. Their anger, fear and worry (emotions) have made me a much better and more patient teacher. Teenage students have also taught me that they learn quicker because they are less emotional.
In 2019, to complete my instructor training, I had to observe instructors train students to drive. Immediately, every student was forced to drive around on busy roads. When one student started crying (fear), she was forced to continue to drive. Immediately, I began creating parking lot drills to teach my students how to control their emotions before I put them on the road.
It took six years of hard work, care and competence to develop our behind-the-wheel training. We use four powerful skills to train our students to control self (emotions), the vehicle and space. Two are mental – concentration and awareness and two are practical – precision and timing.
“Success is not always excellence, but excellence is always success.”

DRIVER EDUCATION
We teach our students how to use their brains to control self, the vehicle, speed and space through concentration, precision, timing and awareness. If you control yourself, you control the vehicle. If you control the vehicle, you control speed. If you control speed, you control space.
All classes must be taken in sequence as described in the curriculum. Classes are limited to two a week. Students must have their permits with them to take behind-the-wheel classes.
Each class is two hours of driving. There are no other students in the car as there are in driving schools. This enables the instructor to completely concentrate on every nuance of the student’s response or reaction to instruction.
Our roads are very dangerous and our training is designed to meet that danger. Our students become excellent drivers and always pass their driving test with high marks.
PARENT/TEEN STUDENTS
1. Minimum age is 15.
2. The teen must take the teen 32 hour class and take their certificate to DPS to get a permit. DPS has the 32 hour class online.
3. Teens must have their permit with them to take behind-the-wheel classes.
4. No teen will be allowed to drive on the street until a level of control over self, the vehicle, speed and space is achieved.
5. If the teen refuses to listen and concentrate, the instructor has the option to cancel the class without refund.
6. The instructor will discuss the student’s performance with them after class.
7. The instructor will also email an evaluation of the student’s performance to the parents after every class with areas of practice needed.
8. Parents should practice parking lot control drills with their teens until they are no longer afraid to let them drive their vehicle (parent/teen can take an extra parking lot class in parent’s car).
9. We will work with parents to help them fulfill the state’s required 20 hour daytime and 10 hour night time training log.
ADULT STUDENTS
1. Age 18 and over must take a six hour class and take their certificate to DPS to get a permit or have a driver license. DPS has the six hour class online.
2. Adults must have their permit or license with them to take behind-the-wheel classes.
3. No adult will be allowed to drive on the street until a level of control over self, the vehicle, speed and space is achieved.
4. If an adult refuses to listen and concentrate, the instructor has the option to cancel the class without refund.
5. The instructor will discuss the student’s performance with them after class.
6. The instructor will also email the student an evaluation after every class with areas of practice needed.
